Charlie Simpson – Haunted

Well it seems like everyone is going acoustic these days! Following Frank Turner’s footsteps, Jamie Lenman (of Reuben fame) went acoustic/heavy on us, and now Charlie Simpson (of Fightstar, and yes I’m going to say it, Busted) has done the same.

Taking a more pop side, Charlie’s latest single ‘Haunted‘ is a snappy piece of acapella-based indie-pop with a touching message. If you haven’t listened to it yet, you definitely should..

Introducing: Peasant’s King

Looking for a bit of country-tinged indie rock? Look no further than Peasant’s King (named after the members were inspired from watching Robin Hood). The Welsh five-piece have just signed to Visible Noise, having already had great support from Radio 1 for their single ‘Antidotes‘.

The band have been playing in various incarnations since their teens, but Peasant’s King as we know them formed back in 2012. Performances at Reading and Leeds followed, plus a support slot with songstress Gabrielle Aplin. With a record deal now under their belts, it looks like 2014 will be the year these guys finally gain some national recognition.
