Reach – Tell Me (Acoustic)

Normally I’d be a little wary of a band who’s members have appeared in certain ‘talent’ shows, but apparently the musical quality in Scandinavia’s reality tv is a bit better than ours!  That’s why I’m not ashamed to admit I’m a big fan of Sweden’s REACH, whose guitarist appeared in ‘Swedish Idol’ in 2014.

If you’re not as convinced as I am, this lovely acoustic version of their single ‘Tell Me’ should do a lot to reassure you..

IDestroy – Vanity Loves Me

Hey folks, sorry for the long silence! I’ve been busy running round London looking for the best new music to bring to you, and I’m back with some fresh punk-esque tunes, courtesy of Bristol three-piece IDestroy.

The trio have just released their DIY video for ‘Vanity Loves Me‘, and its a good one. Check it out below..

We Were Promised Jetpacks – A Part Of It

If you’re going to see Death Cab For Cutie on their summer dates in the UK, you should definitely get there early. Edinburgh’s bouncy new indie rockers, We Were Promised Jetpacks will be there to get you in the dancing spirit (before you chill out to Death Cab, of course).

For just a little taster of what you’ll be experiencing, I highly recommend that you watch the below video. Unless you’re afraid of needles, in which case, look away now..

We Are Harlot – Dancing On Nails

The term ‘supergroup’ has been coined too frequently recently, from bands that are often quite significantly less than super. Luckily We Are Harlot, a combination of former Asking Alexandria singer Danny Warsnop, plus members of Silvertide, Sebastian Bach and Revolution Rennaissance, more than qualifies, create a hard-rock sound that more than meets the qualifications.
The four-piece released their debut self-titled album earlier this year and will be making an appearance at Download festival this summer.

Inherit The Stars – On Our Own (Stream)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Inherit The Stars are one band who (deservedly) are going to go far.. This new stream of ‘On Our Own‘ from their new EP ‘Beyond The Beacons‘ should guarantee the Sheffield boys some decent exposure with its eerie, synth led melodies and energetic chorus.

Beyond The Beacons‘ is out December 8th.

Golden Fable – Armour

It’s Monday in September, so let’s beat that grey feeling with a little indie-dream-pop.. The ethereal sounds of Golden Fable are sure to clear out some cobwebs, especially with their beautifully textured new single ‘Armour’. Taken from the band’s upcoming new album ‘Ancient Blue’ (out November 10th), the track layers distorted drumming with sharp vocals to create a uniquely captivating sound.

Wednesday Wish List – Abbey Dawn Shoes

Yes, its true. I do spend quite a lot of my free time hunting through clothing / shoe sites. It’s not an obsession, just something I really enjoy. Anyway, what makes me happier than finding a beautiful pair of shoes? Finding a beautiful pair of shoes that are in the sale. Even better than that (and I’m sure any other vegetarians reading this will agree) is finding a beautiful pair of shoes that aren’t made of leather. I’ve basically given up shoe shopping at Topshop, or any other store which I haven’t already researched online and found specific shoes that I know I can look at.

Boots are even more of a problem. Every year, I buy a cheap pair of boots from New Look (one of the few high street places to stock non-leather boots). Then they fall apart in just a month. Anyway, before I get too off topic, I rarely buy going out shoes. One of the few places that makes good quality evening shoes is the wonderful VeganChic.com, which, sadly, is based in the US and charges a small fortune for delivery. For the UK, there’s vegetarianshoes.co.uk, but nearly everywhere else seems to assume that if I want vegetarian shoes, the only thing I want to do with my life is go hiking round the Peak District. I kid you not.

That’s why I was more than happy when I saw these beauties (made from PU / PVC):

abbey dawn shoes

Part of the Abbey Dawn collection, designed by Avril Lavigne (don’t judge!), I’ve been eyeing them up for a while. At £79.99 though, they were more than a bit out of my price range! Luckily for me, Attitude Clothing have a sale on, so I’ll be snapping them up now for £24.99..

Do it. Do it now.
