If you like your rock with a lot of roll, some southern vibes and slight Welsh twist, then you’re in luck! Defy All Reason take inspiration from the likes of Black Stone Cherry and Shinedown, then bring their own burst of frantic energy to every track of their upcoming record ‘The Road Ahead‘.

‘The Road Ahead‘ is released May 11th.
It’s rare to see a band so casually cross the channel sonically, but French pop-punks Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! have certainly managed it with their new single ‘Playing Dead’. Give it a listen and you’ll be swearing that they have come straight from the sunny climates of the USA, like their recent tourmates Yellowcard and Less Than Jake, not the rainy Parisian streets..
Back in 2011, pop punk starlets Paramore released the ‘Singles Club‘ EP, a set of four tracks including ‘Monster‘ which was only available from the band’s website. Also featuring on the EP was ‘Hello Cold World‘, the antithesis to Taylor Swift’s ‘22‘, with its much more realistic approach to life as a young person.
There must be some kind of early-emo / post-hardcore resurgence going out, with so many classic bands on their ten year anniversary tours, plus countless young bands springing up with clear 00s influences. Brighton’s Come The Spring are one of them, echoing the sounds of INME at their most throat-scrapingly angry, with elements of heavier punk thrown in.
The band’s new EP, ‘Revive‘ is out March 11th. Listen to the single, ‘Memory & Resonance‘ below:
