Order Of Voices – Hand In Hand

Does anyone else miss early-Incubus as much as I do? Hey, I’m not one to say a band has ‘gone mainstream’, but you have to admit that the newer stuff just doesn’t have that grunge-tinted feel too it. Obviously nothing is going to replace watching Brandon Boyd delivering those beautiful notes, whilst strutting about in just shorts and sandals (sorry, got a bit distracted there..), but this track from Sheffield lads Order Of Voices does come pretty closely, sonically at least!

Hand In Hand’ is the new single from the band’s upcoming second album, ‘Constancy‘.

Introducing: Peasant’s King

Looking for a bit of country-tinged indie rock? Look no further than Peasant’s King (named after the members were inspired from watching Robin Hood). The Welsh five-piece have just signed to Visible Noise, having already had great support from Radio 1 for their single ‘Antidotes‘.

The band have been playing in various incarnations since their teens, but Peasant’s King as we know them formed back in 2012. Performances at Reading and Leeds followed, plus a support slot with songstress Gabrielle Aplin. With a record deal now under their belts, it looks like 2014 will be the year these guys finally gain some national recognition.

Introducing: Trash Monroe

Fact: there really aren’t enough females in rock music. Its sounds cliche, I know, but the fact that woman in rock music is even a talking point proves this.

Step right up then, and have a listen to melodic metallers Trash Monroe. Featuring powerful vocals from frontwoman Melany Dantes, the band have been touring and recording since 2003, building their reputation as one of the best unsigned bands from the South East.

The Essex band released their debut album ‘Shooting From The Lips & Other Crimes Of Passion‘ in 2010, followed by two EPs, ‘Addiction of Duplicates’ Part 1 and 2, featuring the single ‘S.O.B‘.

Classic rock certainly seems to be having a revival these days, with Grimsby trio The Brew being the latest to rise from the scene. Despite their recent acclaim from international press, the band have quite a history, touring with the greats from Ozzy Osborne and Jeff Beck to Lynryd Skynryd, as well as recording three studio albums, with their fourth, ‘Control‘ planned for release on February 20th.
